Young or Old, Small or Tall, We All Can Fall.

Falling is no laughing matter. Especially when you are over the age of 65.

According to the National Council on Aging...

1 in 4 Americans over the age of 65 fall every year.

Every 11 seconds an older adult is treated in the emergency room for a fall.

Every 13 minutes an older American dies due to a fall.

But, my main concern is about  your home, and the fact that many Americans over the age of 65 are having to sell their homes because of mobility and safety issues due to the stairs in their houses.

Your friends, your caregivers, and especially your family are concerned about leaving you home alone because of the fear of a fall that may result in serious injury or even death.

Rehab in your home is particularly difficult because it may cause longer stays in the hospital, longer stays in a rehab center or even a nursing home.

Rehabbing at your home is difficult also because most of the time you will be rehabbing downstairs which could cause a longer recovery period.

What can be done to make your stairs safer at your house, accessible and most importantly at a price that is affordable?

Well...

Our answer is a Stairlift.

My name is Jeff Kriz, owner of Right Track Mobility With Ease.

Where we make it easy to install, easy to maintain and we train you on the use of your new stairlift.

We are factory trained.

We have all the necessary equipment to put any type of stairlift in your home whether it is straight rail or curved rail.

It works on any type of stair surface whether it is wood or carpet.

We are prepared to help you put a stairlift in your home.

Now, this type of stairlift here, you will notice it is compact, there is plenty of room between the stairwell and there is room for someone to walk up and down without hitting the stairlift.

When it is time to use it, this one has a power footrest.

When you lower the seat, the footrest will come down making it easy for you to get into position.

We will adjust your stairlift to your height so it fits you and you are comfortable in the operation.

The armrests have to be in the down position for the stairlift to operate.

We suggest you use a seatbelt.

To go in the direction you want to, there is a button that can be mounted for left or right so no matter which hand is prevelent and you prefer to use, we can mount it that way.

I'm going to press the button to go up and I want to talk about some of the safety features.

Underneith the footrest, there are sensors that should there be an obstruction, the stairlift will stop immediately.

This is good for if a pet or a shoe gets in the way, it will stop quickly.

All you have to do is start the button again and you can go forward.

Another safety feature we have is that this is battery operated.

The importance of that is...

Should the power go out, you can still operate your stairlift.

You can go up.

You can go down.

You can do that many times because there are two batteries installed that can go for several days without losing power.

As we start going up, you can hear how quiet it is.

I am able to talk and hear what is going on around.

It goes up very smoothly.

As we are nearing the landing, you will notice that the stairlift starts to slow down.

The reason for this is to have an easy dock.

It slows down, then it stops.

At this point, you will use the lever under the seat or, in this case, there is a power seat.

Use the button and it will start moving you into a position so you can exit onto the landing.

You want to make sure that you have completely turned the seat and you are facing the landing.

And your back is directly toward the stairlift.

Unbuckle your seatbelt and stand up.

If you happen to be unsteady or uneasy and you fall backward, you're going to fall back into the stairlift.

This is another safety feature.

This allows you to have that complete confidence that you will not fall down your stairs.

Once you get to the top, you want to put it back out of the way so people can use the stairs.

Put your armrests up, your seat up...

And again, this automatically puts the footrest up.

The next thing I want to show you is the remote control.

Should the stairlift be downstairs, you simply call it and bring it upstairs.

This helps if there are multiple people using it in the home.

Sometimes it is downstairs...

This makes it convenient for you to wait for it, get on it and then you can use it.

There are 2 remotes - one place upstairs and one placed downstairs.

Another nice thing about the remote access is that it allows you to put laundry or books on it.

Because, most of the accidents that occur on stairs are becaus of carrying an item on the stairs.

Again, this is a way for you to stay safe in your home.

Let us help you by showing you in your home how we can save you money, save you time, make it safe and put your family at ease.

The one neat thing about this installation is that we positioned the stairlift so that we can close the door.

This is coming up from the basement to the main floor.

So, as you can see here, we can close the door completely and the stairlift is out of sight.
